Driving time from Bethlehem is about 1 hr. 10 min.
Ample and free parking is provided for guests. We should meet near the ticket booth.
Please dress appropriately for the weather as there are both outdoor and indoor displays. Once the sun goes down it can become chilly so make sure you bring hats & gloves. It can become very crowded, so tripods are not appropriate for certain areas.
On Thursday, November 21st at 7pm at the Banana Factory, we will have our November club meeting with guest speaker Thomas Shillea.
Thomas Shillea is an educator, artist, and photographer. He completed his Bachelor of Science Degree in Art Education from Kutztown University and earned a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Photography from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He has teaching experience at all academic levels, from the public school system through college and university programs at the graduate level.
Mr. Shillea has exhibited his photographs extensively over the past 30 years. His photographs are in the collections of major art museums, including The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The National Portrait Gallery, the National Museum of African American History and Culture, The Baltimore Museum of Art, and The New Orleans Museum of Art, as well as in many college and university collections and private collections. He is the author of two books on the history of the Platinotype Process.
Mr. Shillea also worked in the advertising photography business in Philadelphia and New York City for over 20 years before accepting the position of Director of Art Programs at Northampton Community College.
The member exhibition entitled “Shaped by the Hand of Man” at the Sigal Museum is now open and runs until December 15th. The opening reception will be held on November 8th from 5-8 p.m. The flyer for the show can be viewed here. There will be several other galleries in the area to visit during this time.
The Sigal Museum is located at 342 Northampton Street in Easton, PA.
For those with works at the Sigal exhibition, pick-up of works will be on December 19th from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
