PSA Competitions for 2018 – 2019

Lehigh Valley Photography Club (LVPC) has been successful and well-represented in the Photographic Society of America (PSA) Nature and Travel competitions.  We have competed yearly beginning with the 2014-15 season.

This year LVPC will participate in 3 competitions. Refer to detailed information on the Submission Guideline pages.

  • Projected Image Division (PID) – new for LVPC. It is an open division that accepts a broad range of photographic subjects and resulting images.  The images can be altered in post processing and creatively altered.  PSA PID Submission Guidelines
  • Nature – LVPC ranked 3rd out of 40 clubs last seasons in Group B. Image criteria is narrowly defined and must not include any man-made objects.   PSA Nature Submission Guidelines
  • Travel LVPC, ranked 2nd out of 19 clubs.  In the coming season, LVPC has been promoted to compete in the Nature Group A collection of clubs.   PSA Travel Submission Guidelines

About the Photographic Society of America (PSA)

The Photographic Society of America (PSA) is a worldwide organization providing a wide range of services that promote photography and benefits to its members. Individual members can participate in competitions, study groups and on-line education programs designed to advance their photographic knowledge and skills. Competitions are held for clubs, councils, federations and chapters, also. Member image galleries are always available for viewing. An annual youth photography showcase, open to all students of high school age, is conducted as well. The opportunity to publish articles in our monthly PSA Journal, a quality magazine filled with stimulating and educational articles and features written by and for members. The opportunity to present shows and workshops at local, regional, and national meetings.

The opportunity for your images to be critiqued by experts via Personal Evaluation Services, accessed by fellow photographers in Slide and Print Study Groups, and evaluated around the country using Interclub Competitions. The opportunity to use Recorded Lecture Programs as well as Study Sets through PSA Divisions.

PSA is Recognition
The opportunity to have your work displayed on the PSA Website, in the PSA Journal , and in International Exhibitions throughout the year. The opportunity to earn exhibition achievement ratings — which can lead to PSA Distinctions for proficiency and excellence (PPSA , EPSA). The opportunity to volunteer your services on a local, regional, or international level which may lead to being elected an Associate or Fellow of the Society (APSA, FPSA) and other awards.
