Join Nikon Ambassador Cliff Mautner as he dissects his creative process. Through his images, stories and a touch of irreverence, Cliff will explain various techniques using natural light, continuous light and flash as they apply to his various assignments from weddings, portraits and a potpourri of commercial assignments. You’ll discover how to give your photographs a painterly feel that adds impact to your work. He’ll also take a deep dive into how to improve your composition by sharing his inspiration and mindset while looking through the viewfinder. It’ll be a fast paced, informative and thought-provoking talk.

This is a "hybrid" event:  an in-person meeting, as well as a virtual presentation via Zoom open, both are open to Members and Non-members.  The in-person meeting will be held at Seegers Union, Room 113, on the Muhlenberg Campus.  Seegers Union is Building #1 on the linked map (Click for Campus Map w/Directions), with parking available in the second staff lot (near bldg. #22) when entering from N 26th St on the west side of campus.

All registrants for the in-person meeting must comply with the LVPC Member’s Liability Waiver and Event Agreement.  You will have to accept the terms of this Agreement during registration; these terms can be reviewed by clicking HERE.  In addition, attendees will be required to wear masks while indoors for this meeting.  

For the virtual presentation, connection information will be sent in your registration confirmation email and in follow-up reminder emails.

To signup, click the "Register Now" button to the right (members, be sure to logon before clicking "Register Now").  You will have the option of "checking" the In-Person or Virtual meeting, select only one.  Please let family and friends know they can register, too.

Biography:
Cliff Mautner’s career in photography spans 38 years. After shooting for 15 years and 6,000 assignments as a photojournalist with the Philadelphia Inquirer, as well as shooting for commercial clients ranging from Comcast to Subaru, Cliff launched his wedding photography career. After 1,200 or so weddings, he still brings the same passion and intensity with him to each event. As a wedding photographer, he’s best known for his authentic, dramatic and timeless storytelling. Light, texture, dimension, mood, composition, anticipation, passion, emotion, energy, romance and relationships are the elements that he uses to create inspiring and timeless wedding images.

Cliff is a very proud Nikon Ambassador to the United States. He’s been honored by the photography industry, receiving recognition from the most prestigious organizations in the world. Cliff was named one of the top-ten wedding photographers in the world by American PHOTO magazine, received the WPPI Photographer of the Year award, honored with the International Photographic Council Leadership medal at the United Nations, presented with the WPPI Lifetime Achievement Award, and is a two-time winner of the Grand Award for photojournalism in WPPI’s global print competition.

Cliff is also the founder of the highly acclaimed Lighting and Skill Set Bootcamp - a workshop that has drawn students from more than 40 countries over the past 15 years. This workshop is dedicated to empowering photographers with the skills needed to acquire a style of their own.
