In Nature's Embrace, with Xuan-Hui Ng

Xuan-Hui Ng
In Nature's Embrace

May 16, at 7:00 PM ET

Xuan-Hui Ng (pronounced Zhen Way Ing) began photographing 13 years ago as a form of self-therapy. The death of her mother plunged her into a downward spiral until a chance encounter with nature set her on the path to recovery. Its vastness gave her a sense of perspective, while its majesty reignited in her a sense of wonder and adventure. Over time, she healed. Now, she photographs to celebrate and eternalize her serendipitous encounters with the natural world.

During the presentation, Xuan will show photographs
that she has taken in Central Hokkaido, Nagano and Aomori, Japan.  She will talk about how photographing nature has transformed her.  She will also make us privy to the challenges that she has faced in photography, and speak about how various mentors have helped her overcome these difficulties and find her voice in photography.
