Richard Lewis- Finding Your Creative Voice

April 20, 2017 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

For our April 20 club meeting, we will welcome Richard Lewis.   His presentation is titled, “Finding Your Creative Voice.”  The meeting will be held at the Banana Factory at 7:00PM.  Non-members will be asked to pay $10.00 to attend LVPC meetings with featured speakers.

According to Richard, the challenge for the digital photographer is to find your own unique creative voice and to be able to stand out among the thousands of photographs that are created every day. This presentation will teach you four questions you should ask yourself that will help define your type and style of photography. It will also provide several tips to help your photography stand out and be more than just another pretty picture.

Richard Lewis has been a professional and fine art photographer since the 1970’s. His earliest exposure to art came from the great landscape painters. Because of that influence, he calls his photographic style “Painting with a Camera” which involves equal effort in both creating the original digital photograph and in post processing.

Although he is known for his work as a landscape photographer, he also photographs abandoned buildings and practices iPhoneography or the art of creating photographic art by using a smartphone camera and apps.

Richard is an active blogger and speaker. He provides individual photography instruction and conducts workshops. His work has appeared in print, on the web, and is in several corporate and private art collections. Over the years he has participated in group and individual exhibitions and has been honored with numerous awards and recognition.
